Chhath Puja

Chhath Puja is an ancient festival dedicated to the Sun God, celebrating gratitude, discipline, and the sustaining force of nature. Observed mainly in Bihar, Jharkhand, and eastern Uttar Pradesh, it involves rigorous rituals of fasting and purity, culminating in offerings made to the setting and rising sun while standing in water. Devotees gather at riverbanks, ponds, and ghats with bamboo baskets filled with fruits, thekua, and sacred offerings, creating a deeply serene yet powerful atmosphere. Defined by silence, reflection, and unwavering devotion, Chhath transforms natural spaces into sacred grounds, where human life aligns with the rhythm of light, water, and the cycles that sustain existence.
